two days in London

two days in London

Okie, I admited.

I am not a fan of London. I doubted myself if I visit London while I am in the UK.
However, I book my Skiing trip flight from London Heathrow to Zurich. Therefore,
I have to go to London to take the flight.

GNER was delayed for one hours, so when I arrive King's cross, London. It was 12 o'clock already.
When I want to find a cash point, suddenly, I found platphom 9 1/2 !!!
I don't want to pretend that I'm not interested in Harry Potter series, but I still took the picture of this unique platform.
I didn't touch it as other 'English' tourists do. Sometimes, I feel funny, the only time English will show their emotion is when
they read book or in the pub. Sometimes, they pretend being polite to other people. :)))))

After I checked in a beautiful hostel in Swiss cottage (well, it is not in Switzerland, a tube station named Swiss cottage)
I headed to Oxford circus, where Oxford street and Regent street meet.I didn't expect so many people on the street, a lot of people on the circus. We even have to wait for traffic light turn green for three time to across the street. Oxford street and Regent street are the home of famous clothes retailer, for example Mango, Zara, Topshop, United of Benetton, H&M, and some designer's shop. That the reason why there is so crowded over there.

However, I didn't buy any thing in Mango, even though I was their fan in Taiwan. Perhaps, too many people in a shop and I didn't like to wait for queuing for fitting, payment. I only buy two knitwear in Zara for my Switzerland skiing trip.
I always image the weather is very cold in Switzerland

When I arrive Covent Garden, it was nearly 5pm. Most shops closed at the time, even though, it was still in Christmas holida.
Everyone has to take lift from tube to the ground in Covent Garden station, otherwise, she/he has to walk for over 1,000 steps.
I saw NYR's A.D in the lift, so I want to check their shop.
NYR is a aromatherapy store in the UK, it is famous in Asian country i.e. Taiwan, Japan (of cause, very expensive) but it closed as well. I decided to come to Covent Garden next day morning, right before I go to Heathrow airport From Covent Garden, I walked slowly to Leicester Square. Actually, I had no idea about London tourist spot, I just want to take tube going back to Swiss Cottage. I found there are a lot of theatres in Leicester Square, the tickets in discount shops still are very expensive for students.

The cheapest one cost 20 more pounds. In spite of high price, I still have highly interested in musical, I will take one before I leave the UK, I hope.

I had Burger King set in Leicester square, the first fast food dish in the UK. Everything in the UK are so expensive, so I rarely go out for dinning. It tasted better than McDonald, I think. But I didn’t compare both price in the UK.

On the way back to hostel, I got phone call from Mia. My friend from Ietls class, she had some question for the Switzerland trip. Therefore, I didn’t look around Swiss cottage and heading back to hostel directly.

The hostel is pretty good, they even have wireless for people who carry their laptop traveling. I like this hostel than the hostel in Zurich and Rome. One doom bed in 10 people room costs 12 pounds it is a good price in Zone 2, London
